The ruler features clear millimeter graduations along its working edge, allowing the clinician to read file length from the rubber stop directly to the file tip with sub-millimeter accuracy. The compact size fits comfortably in the operatory tray and is sized for one-handed use during canal preparation, when the file is held in the contralateral hand and the rubber stop must be adjusted precisely against the established working length reference. Manufactured from medical-grade stainless steel, the ruler is fully autoclavable and resists corrosion through unlimited sterilization cycles and an essential property for any chairside measuring instrument used between patients. The deeply etched graduations remain clearly legible even after years of clinical use, unlike printed or surface-applied scales that fade with repeated autoclave exposure.
